Standardizing Education Policy and Practice in the Global Age: Cases from England, China and South Korea

Project Description and Goal

We are living in an era when governments and small institutes alike are obsessed with the imperative of constant change. These reforms are addressing local issues, but may also be talking to the global, as they are informed by reforms in other societies at different stages. By presenting three reforms on the move which are seemingly addressing the local needs but of global educational issues such as anti-bullying, and privatisation of education, the symposium invites the audience to question whether global standardisation of curricula is as pervasive as suggested by some.
